Imagine your Arabian racing in his very first race …
Imagine the effort and the trust it took to get there …
Imagine the starting gates crashing open …
And imagine your elation if you win …

It wasn’t difficult for around thirty people to imagine this today at the Queensland Arabian Racing Assn Inc. ARABIAN RACING SEMINAR. I arrived mid-morning and was immediately caught up listening to several successful people share their insights, knowledge and suggestions. I’ve always enjoyed seminars and believe the sharing of ideas imparts inspiration and often the motivation needed to take that first step into the unknown.

Greg Egan passionate about Arabian horses and the future.

Today at the Lockyer Valley Race Club grounds in Gatton we enjoyed the very entertaining Greg Egan of Myth Haven Arabian Farm www.mythhavenarabians.com.au who engaged the group speaking firstly about his experience riding track-work and his passion for Arabian horses. From there he outlined  the importance of following rules, goal setting and the fact that Arabian racing in Australia offers one of the most exciting opportunities for Arabian breeders and owners in recent times. His talk culminated in everyone visualising their race horse “Maggie” winning her race …

Australian Racing ‘ICON’ Jill Colwell

It’s a great time to be interested in Arabian horse racing in Australia and this came across loud and clear when the newly crowned “Arabian ICON” Jill Colwell spoke about getting started in Arabian racing. Her passion and commitment for racing was obvious and as I sat listening to her sharing her knowledge I felt she represented the perfect ambassador for the words – if you’re committed you can make it happen.

Dr Peter Huntington informative and entertaining.

Dr Peter Huntington gave an understandable and in depth talk on feeding the Arabian racehorse and it never ceases to amaze me that there’s always something new to learn when it comes to owning and looking after horses.

I missed several other speakers, my loss of course; I spent a little too much time chatting on the sidelines. But what came across was the dedication of both NARA and QARA who continue to work tirelessly for Arabian Racing in Australia. Like-minded people making sure Arabian Racing becomes an everlasting way showcase Arabian horses to the wider community, while giving breeders and owners of Arabian horses another avenue in which to use their horses.
In Queensland there were around twelve races for Arabians last year and I hear there is a promise of great things to come in Victoria.

As the Chinese proverb says: “The journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”

A huge well done to the committee of QARA and all involved in presenting a terrific seminar today – a giant step in the right direction.

      Dear Greg,
We all enjoyed the day and your enthusiastic talk. I’ve always felt education and listening to people’s stories fires enthusiasm and assists people to take the plunge and become involved. I loved your words- “What you focus on is what you will get. Allow that to be greatest source of positive possibilities. Wake every day with possibilities.”
Arabian racing is offering wonderful possibilities and opportunities for breeders and owners of Arabian horses.
It was a thrill to observe the enthusiasm shown by all who attended the seminar.
Thanks Greg for your fabulous presentation.
