SHOW BUSINESS – the Top of the Range Arabian Event 2014
Mia, Jessie and Emma happiest faces award
I often wonder what keeps me motivated to do the things I love as much as the things that test me. One of these things would have to be caring about and observing people. The idea is inspirational to me
This weekend I once again attended the Top of the Range Arabian Event and came away with one question. What did I learn from the weekend? I won’t bore you all with every detail but the brightest beam of light would have to be the dedication of all who attended. The people who go over and above to show their horses, the people who sponsor classes, the people who run the show year in, year out, the people who are booked to judge, and even the people who support by simply coming to watch the beautiful horses.
This year marked the 34th Anniversary of the Downs Arabian Club and I know personally the effort that goes into keeping any club operating from this number of years. I applaud the hard working committee and observe their common goal and the respect they have for one another. The weekend program went smoothly and this in itself makes for a relaxed and happy show. The judges were efficient, friendly and smiling.
When events go smoothly sometimes we forget the effort of a great number of willing supporters who make it their personal cause to promote and enjoy the Arabian horse.
“Just as a wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, so must I never live my life for myself, but always in the experience which is going on around me. It is an uncomfortable doctrine which the true ethics whisper in my ear. You are happy, they say, therefore you are called upon to give.” ~ Albert Schweitzer
Congratulations to all associated with the Downs Arabian Club Inc. once again the Top of the Range Arabian Event was a delight to attend.
