Baby animal pictures give us all a boost.

I think we all love baby animals but in yesterdays Sunday mail, a new study suggested that putting a picture of a cute puppy or kitten on your desk can make you work harder. I read that researchers found concentration levels can be improved by an average 10 per cent by gazing at images of baby animals.

Experts at Japan’s Hiroshima University believe that becoming more focused is brought on by a cuteness triggered positive emotion inspired by anything that gives you happiness, pleasure or joy.
The study based its findings on three groups of students – one that looked at images of baby animals another that looked at adult animals and another that was shown pictures of tasty food. The pictures of adult animals triggered a 5 per cent lift in concentration but the images of food had little effect.

Now we can all start this week with an extra little boost by finding our favourite baby animal picture, put it on the wall or our desk and who knows what we can achieve …
