An ardent LOVER of the Thoroughbred Marion has found the Arabian horse… You must read Marion’s article though I know all my Arabian friends out there will just say, ‘I told you so, Arabian horses are a breed apart from all the others.’

As anyone who knows me will attest, I love all horses. There’s no member of the equine species who can’t reduce me to tears, bring a smile to my heart and calm me down better than a Valium Milkshake. I grew up riding Quarter Horses, fell in love with Thoroughbreds before I was six and the love affair has continued for, er, almost 49 years now. Thoroughbreds do something to me, sharing with me their untouchable, almost surreal serenity.
But a new breed of horse is determined to be part of my Life–and this is fascinating to me, friends. I welcome the intrusion, because it’s all happening very naturally. I’d recently told several people that I’d first “noticed” Arabians in March 2009, when I wrote a piece about Arabians for Saratoga Today newspaper. (“Beauty. Speed. Endurance. Heart. Americans, Meet the Arabian Horse.”) But I realized this past Friday, that that’s not correct: it was in June, 2008 that Arabians first came into my line of vision. In a big way.
