We often convince ourselves there is always something better to wish for…

We say we’ll be happy if we find the right person, if we get married, if we have a baby, and maybe when we have another? Then we’re frustrated that the kid’s aren’t old enough and we consider we’ll be much more content when they grow up. After that we’re frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with and we’ll certainly be happy, won’t we, when they move out!
Naturally life will be perfect when we have a big house, a nicer car, pay off the mortgage or be able to go on an overseas holiday. But will it?
The truth is, there is no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
By now, we know life is full of challenges. Admit it to your self then decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is purely a state of mind.
So treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more if you are able to share it with someone special. Remember time waits for no one.
Stop waiting until your car or home is paid off – until your kids go to school – until your kids leave home – until you lose weight – until you gain weight – until you get married – until you get divorced – until you have kids – until you retire – until you get that filly – until the mare goes infoal – until the foal is sold – until you retire – until summer – until spring – until winter – until autumn – until you die…
There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a state of mind and to change everything – simply change your attitude.
So, work like you don’t need money. Love like you have never been hurt. Forgive all who need forgiveness. And laugh often and loud every day with someone who cares.
More about happiness from Liz van der Linde. In my kitchen I have a handpainted plaque with these words of wisdom upon it:
“Happines is like a butterfly – the more you chase it, the more it will elude you.
But if you turn your attention to other things it comes and softly sits upon your shoulder.
Happiness is to be found within oneself.
If you cannot make yourself happy then you cannot expect another to provide it for you.
Their dimension should add to your own happiness not be solely responsible for it…….
