For those who love the Borzoi.

For those who love Borzoi dogs….  I love this breed so much I just had to include them in my ‘Daughters of the Wind’ series.

“Arish” Mindean Lord Arishnakov lives on as a character in ‘Tails Carried High’

A short excerpt from

‘Tails Carried High’

“…Suddenly, Jessikah asked herself was it possible that all
these pictures were of her grandmother’s horses? She
dragged the chair over to the wall and stood tiptoe on the seat
to reach the photographs. She pulled each one from the wall, sending
the drawing pins flying across the room. She examined them intently
and recognised her mother hugging a white horse and Emma leaning
forward, laughing at the camera, her arms around a tall, elegant dog.
Darion Carey held the horse. Jessikah was surprised to see a smile
relaxing his severe features.
The dog fascinated Jessikah, with its snow-white colour and raised
elegant top line. It resembled an oversized greyhound with longer
hair. Its large and enquiring eyes were set below ear that folded
down like a collie. Jessikah had never seen such a spectacular dog.
Her mind went back to the Art Deco prints and posters her father
purchased for the shop. This breed of dog was often featured with
elegant men and hourglass-figured women. What breed was it, she
wondered, and where did it originate?”
